Welcome to my homepage

  1. The role of humanitarian assistance in armed conflict

  2. Political and economic agendas of armed groups in intrastate conflicts.

For more details please go to: Seminars/lectures!

Aside from teaching, I am a medical practitioner with extensive working experience in Norway and Germany. I also hold a Master of Arts in Humanitarian Assistance from the University of Bochum and a Master of Arts in Peace and Conflict Studies from the University of Marburg.

My experience in humanitarian assistance includes providing medical aid to the victims of the earthquake in Haiti, in March 2010. I am also a member of the disaster response unit of the German Red Cross (GRC) and have worked as an intern at the GRC Secretariat. During March and April 2013 I worked in a remote hospital in Liberia.

During an internship at the World Health Organisation (WHO) in New York I conducted research on the conflict resolution program „Health as a Bridge for Peace“. I compiled reports for the WHO Secretariat in Geneva on meetings and conferences of the United Nations concerning Darfur, Lebanon and Sri Lanka. My responsibilities included reporting on conferences from the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), as well as on meetings of the UN Security Council and the General Assembly.
